Hello!

My name is Lydia Frew and I am a musical theatre performer from Norwich, Vermont. I started dancing at age 3 and left home at 13 to attend Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto where I spent 5 years in the Professional Ballet Program, graduating in 2021. Musical theatre has always been my first love, since I discovered movie musicals like Singin’ in the Rain and Mary Poppins as a toddler. My early years were filled with basement performances and living room concerts of original theatrical productions. My first experience with professional musical theatre came at age 8 when I was cast as an orphan in Annie at Northern Stage in White River Junction, Vermont.

Aside from performing, I grew up attending circus camp, playing the piano, baking, and enjoying Vermont winters. As a dual US-Canadian citizen, I spent many summers and holidays visiting family in Alberta and Nova Scotia. In my free time, I can be found hanging out with friends, watching my brother’s hockey and lacrosse games, or bingeing my favorite TV show, Law and Order: SVU.

Most recently, I spent the summers of 2022 and 2023 performing at the New London Barn Playhouse and completed the Broadway Dance Center Professional Semester program in Fall 2023. I am a current dance and psychology double major at Bates College, graduating in 2025.
